Running pump hours

I know that during a slam you have to run your pump on high, if you have a 2 speed, but what about any other time?
Shutoff at night?
Run on low except when adding chems?
Run on low all the time?

You shouldn't have to run your pump on high speed during a slam. As long as your water is circulating you're fine. You do want to keep it running 24/7 during a slam. Make sure you clean or backwasher filter when pressure increases 25% over clean pressure.

Thanks. I’ve just always ran in high during addition of chems.

Besides a slam, is it cool to let timer turn off pump from say….sundown to sunup ? Just run during daylight hours in Texas?

Yep. No problem with that if it works for your pool.
