Running Pool Pump

Brand new to pool owning and have couple of questions regarding how long and when to run our pool pump.

Background - 15x30 semi in ground pool with 14k gallons. 2hp Hayward SwimPro pump.

Should we run our pump 24/7 or put it on some kind of the timer? If so, do you have a recommendation for a particular timer? And how long do you think we need to run the pump every day? By the way, we have solar panels that provide our electricity so running the pump 24 hours a day wouldn’t be a big hardship.
 
Sorry you haven't received a response yet. This is a common question that pops up. There is no right answer. If you have a SWG pool, you need the run the pump long enough to produce the amount of chlorine needed to meet daily FC loss. There are lots of members who run their VS pumps 24/7 at varying speeds based on the needs of the pool. The lower speed, the less power the pump draws. My power rates are super high from 4-9 pm, so I shut my pump off during those times. Take a look at the article below and use the search function. Feel free to ask follow up questions...
