I now have two of these at the bottom of my pool under the ice and need to figure out something that can plug the hole and stay in there until the spring comes and stop flooding the backyard around the pool.

Anyone have tips? Or something else to plug the hole with…. I was thinking of putting a piece of rubber and washer with a bolt in the hole with a big washer and nut on the other side to kinda seal it.

Is it threaded inside the return ? If so hereyago

If not I would make my own similar to the one you posted. You'll want it to be as flush as possible. The same ice that had a firm grip on the other one might take the wall with it if the plug was attached better.

I see now that perhaps u have the aqualuminator?
There’s a specific plug for it but it doesn’t look much different than the one u have
I think the one u mentioned in your 2nd post would be the way to go aside from draining down past the return.
