Rounding the Corner... Install Completed 7/27/13

The pool is already installed nuklhead. If you read the tread from front to back, you will see what was done. I don't need counseled. Thanks for the offer though. I'm pretty nuts as it is and like it that way.

Jim was working on the skimmer and he says the screws are too long! They don't want to tighten down and bring the skimmer box to the face plate with the gasket in between. He said he's been working on it for over an hour and the screws seem too long.

I don't know what to do or if we should try and get shorter screws or what?!!! I have no idea how to get this skimmer box on if the screws won't go in?!!!

I've got 2 minor leaks on the bottom corners of the skimmer. I have no idea how to fix it.

I did find shorter ones n it helped a lot but I still have 2 minor drips. It's driving me nuts!!!

+1 what Bama said. Last year I had a small drip all season. When I disassembled it to take down the Intex, it was clear the gasket was never on quite right - on one side the installer had missed the pre-drilled holes. This year I made an extra effort to hit all the factory screws and no leak at all. Good luck! It is time for this pool to be a source of rest and relaxation for you guys!!

OMG! I want it to be!!! I am so tired and I thought for sure I'd be able to fire the pump up today and then I got my schedule mixed up at work... thought I was off but here I sit. I was looking forward to swimming with Jim. I told him today, GO SWIMMING! He said but I was gonna wait for you. I said NO... Get in there and swim. So he was floating on the turtle today kicking his feet around the pool.

I will be in that pool tomorrow.

Wish I could have been here to see it!

So, I fired the pump up n have a leak in the return fitting. I'm running it for a bit to circulate my chlorine for a bit n then I'll hammer it out tomorrow. I may have missed a part that needs Teflon tape. I don't know... ugh

Hang in there girl. It's so nice to hear you've got the pool up.

As to the return: most threaded parts benefit from Teflon tape and make sure that the cork ring is the last on and right before the keeper nut. It's not really a gasket. It acts as a slip ring so the rubber gasket that's against the outside wall doesn't bunch up and turn as you tighten everything up.

A guy hooked MD up with this blue plumbers stuff. It worked. So glad because Iam basically done. I swept her today n now I'm running all my numbers with the TF100.

Everything looks good so far. I think I'm done n I'm just not going to sweat the minor drips right now. I'm going to enjoy the pool with Jim.

Test results:
FC 17
pH 7.5
TA 80
CYA 20-30 (will test again later as it's only been in 2 days)
Salt 2 40 lb bags
