rope in pool

What kind of rope is safe in pool water for extended periods of time? Chemically with respect to not interfering with ideal water chemistry, physical properties with respect to not creating to much of a filtering/ skimmer/pump issue when it inevitably starts to break down before I replace it with new one.

I'm fiddling with a project/ experiment, the rope will be in the water say 5 out of 7 days.

Nylon I assume ?

Actually nylon isn't good in chlorinated water.
Polypropylene would be a better choice in pool water.
