Rock Dust vs Va. red clay

I purchased my pool from The Pool Factory. The installation instructions says to put down rock dust around the outer perimeter 2 feet. I have called TPF and explained that my ground is solid, Va red clay. Do you experts think I should still do the rock dust? Of course I’ll be putting pavers down for all my uprights, 2 for the buttress front and back. I’m almost level within 1/2 all away around and can’t wait to get this thing up and going. Wish it would stop raining.

Sure wish the rain would stop, it’s like every other day. Question - if and when I get this pool installed will the weight of the pool keep the water from getting underneath my pool. My property is dug out of a slope 20” on one side and it down about 6” on other side. This fine tune leveling is killing me but almost there. 438927D3-D6E2-4DAE-B875-592217DE4D5C.jpg

Just curious of what you ended up doing. We are in the process of leveling for a 26 x 52 round AGP in this VA clay and it’s been a mess to say the least. I’m starting to wonder if this pool will be ready before the end of summer.

I only used rock dust to fill in where the buttresses were dung out. Also I used pavers for all the uprights and buttresses front and rear. Caution if there are any open holes left on the buttress be sure to duct tape them up because after major rain fall they will fill with water and drop your sand leaving big devot on the inside of your pool walls.

I would.....use the big, black hose with holes in it and covered with a sock. Make sure you have it with a slight angle towards where you want the water to exit the pool area. I would put gravel on top of it before I put the dirt back to help it down the road.
