Robotic Pool Cleaner shoots water out of the pool

I have a Dolphin Nautilus robotic pool cleaner and I am trying to stop it from going up on the sun shelf/tanning deck. When it goes there to clean it shoots water out of the pool onto the deck. Any advice from keeping it from going up there? I have tried using a PVC pipe, but it just climbs over that. Our pool gently slopes up to it and does not step to it. Any advice would help.

Some have tried limiting it by making the cord not able to extend that far.
