Up until now I've fallen for the local poolstore selling me chemicals to solve chemical issues which cause chemical issues and have never thought twice.
But now that I've been enlightened thanks to this site, i want to switch to use clorox but my pool store does sell for the same price the 12.5% Robelle Shock Treat. According to the label (http://www.robelleind.com/Robelle-Website/MSDS/Liquid Shock.pdf) it's 12.5% of sodium hypochlorite.
Is this safe to use without the risk of increasing my CYA?
Thanks
P.S. As I begin opening my pool this year by draining it because CYA was off the charts last season and the local pool store kept selling me 'stuff' to keep the chlorine from vanishing almost as fast as I was putting it in there - grrrrrrrrrrr
