RJ45 Port on intelliCenter indoor control panel?

Hey I just installed my Pentair intelliCenter indoor control panel, and I noticed it had a RJ45 port on it. I know it communicates with the intellicenter through a 4 conductor cable connected to a com port, so I was confused as to what the RJ45 port was for. I couldn’t find anything about it in the manual. Just wondering out of curiosity. I attached a picture of it with the 4 conductor connection, and the the RJ45 port circled.

Have you checked the product manual that came with it?

I find it curious why you would want that device when any smartphone or tablet will do the same thing?

Yeah I looked through the manual but didn’t find anything.

We have it so that kids can control water features, turn on the spa etc. Also, with the intellicenter app being spotty here and there it’s nice to have as a backup.
