Ring of caulking/sealant came out of return, cause for concern?

A couple days after opening this year I noticed a line of what seemed to be caulking coming out of one of the return jets. (pushed by the flow of water). Some time later in the day I noticed the whole thing had come out. It turned out to be a ring of caulking (feels like silicone caulking anyway, not sure if that's what it actually is).
So far the water level hasn't seemed to change, so I assume this was maybe extra caulking or something, should I be concerned?

Without knowing where it came from, not sure there should be a concern.

I would monitor your pool water level closely. Put a piece of electrical tape on a skimmer face plate at the water level. Watch it closely.

Monitor your equipment pad for any leaks.
