Hello All,
Building. 12x24x5 foot concrete block pool. The local plumber( here in Honduras) want to install 6 returns. My gut feeling tells me three is plenty to circulate water to the skimmer. One skimmer, 1.5 hp pump , sand filter. Rectangle pool, two eyeball type returns in one 24’ side, one eyeball return in one 12’ side( opposite skimmer). Am I out of touch?
Thanks for any advice!!

Three returns should work fine.

But I would do two skimmers. It is a small cost to add another skimmer. And if your one skimmer has a problem your pool is shutdown. With two skimmers you can have one skimmer out of service and still use the pool.

Home run each skimmer line to the equipment pad with a 2 Way diverter before the pump suction.

Position the skimmer so the prevailing winds blow towards the skimmers.
