I just had a terrible thought and wanted to run it by others who know. I drained my pool in December (eastern Long Island), getting the water level below the returns and just above the pool lights. I blew out all the lines. Plugged the pipes by the pumps, etc. But I did NOT put plugs on the returns (I have 6 of them). I was thinking that is what I did the prior two winters.

Yesterday we had about 3 inches of rain and the water level is now above the returns, so water must have gotten into the lines. I can drain the pool down today while it's relatively warm, but do I have to blow out the return lines again afterward, and then plug the returns at the pool side? I really do not remember plugging these holes in prior years, but I clearly do it on my spa (I plug the jets - 8 of them).

I guess I knew that. Should not be an issue yet as the water just got to that level last night and it's now warm. But should I blow the lines again first? Or is it overkill given this just happened? It's not supposed to get really cold again until next Tuesday at least (but then it will stay cold for some time).
