Returned from vacation to this...

Been maintaining pool for 3 years with chlorine and TFP methods. Came back from vacation to this. What in the world is it? I can't remove with a pool scrubber.
Pool had chlorine added in liquid and tablet form while gone. Pool is clear with exception to this.

I've not ever used any ironizer or anything special in the pool. Liquid chlorine and acid balancer and that's it. Last pool store check of all levels (including TDS and CYA were in check).

Pic from night cause I just discovered. It's brown.

Sap is organic. So a puck set on it should clear it.

Can you scrape any of it off or is it a smooth stain?

Thanks all. Chlorine puck looks like it did the trick. We'll monitor.

Had a few storms roll in while gone, so either sap or definitely could have been ducks. We've got them around here. Usually I'm on top of it when I see it in the pool but given we we're out, that could have been it.
