Hi. I’m halfway into a remodel and debating if I should take out the waterfall and just extend the “cat walk” on the backside. The catwalk was exposed pebbletec roll beam that was converted last week.

The faux rocks from the waterfall have been seeping water into the pool since it was drained. Like a slow leak. PB says it’s normal for them to retain water inside them. I’m wondering how much that’s impacted keeping pool chemistry and cleanliness as it was some nasty gunk in there.

Anyway, trying to decide if tear it out and get rid of waterfall. About 9k for that work and extending the “cat walk” on back side. Any opinions/thoughts.

Thanks

I like that you completely chipped out the old plaster.
One idea is to remove the faux rock waterfall and put in a raised beam wall for a waterfall. Since you have the plumbing there, you can utilize that to still have a water feature if that is what you wish. Know that adds to the cost, but if you remove the waterfall you have to add coping and waterline tile, so adding a raised beam water feature may pull it all together.
