Replacing the pool lamp

I've replaced my pool lamp twice with the products below, and each time, it only seems to last less than a year, even though I barely use it at all. I probably use the lamp less than 10 hours a year, and they're still dying on me very quickly. Both bulbs are rated for 2000 hours.

Is there any chance I'm buying the wrong kind of bulb? (I wouldn't even know how to check.) Any recommendations?

Have you looked into LED equivalents? They run much cooler and may give you better life service. The biggest problem with Halogen bulbs are the heat they generate causing premature failure. They do make LED made for under water service, we use them in our pond fountains for illumination and they are lasting over a year of service with it running 4-6 hours a night 365 days a year. Just a thought

Maybe something like this one

Not to mention the electric savings
