Hello,
I had posted recently we had a leak and they found the main leak under the stairs. Smaller leak on top step and chlorinator (which was removed as we don’t use it). So the leak under the stairs has been caulked and leak has stopped. Our pool company has suggested a new liner. The liner we have is probably 6+ years old as it was installed before we lived here. The biggest concern is damage under the steps. They will drill into the steps and fill it with a substance called expanding epoxy to make the steps strong. They will then paint the steps. The quote is about $8669 for the repairs, water, liner. If the walls and floor have damage, then there could be further costs. There was not a leak in the liner itself but where there should have been some type of seal and there was not a seal. Since we have lived here have replaced pump, sand filter, put auto cover on so hoping we don’t have further repairs after this is completed.
I did let the pool company know we plan to move in about 4 years and hope this will help with sale of house in the future. He indicated yes it should especially with repair of the steps. I must say I had noticed the steps were “soft”, but didn’t think about it being new or concerning. He indicated would empty pool and obtain all measurements for liner and then take 5-6 weeks for liner to come in.
Does all this sound correct? I trust our pool company, but since we don’t know anything about this would love to have some input. I hope someone responds. My last couple of posts have had one or no responses.
Thank you!
