I'm replacing my in-wall light. I guess basically my question is if I need to keep the exposed wires on the end dry--i.e. do I need to drain the pool below the light niche, or do I need to seal up the 'open' end of the wire jacket, or can that get wet/flooded while I install the light and pull the wire through the flooded conduit?
Any other tips, too. Right now my plan is to cut the wire on the old fixture and use it as a pull string for the new wire, which I thought I'd twist together then wrap with about two dozen wraps of electrical tape. So it'd get wet, but I'm not sure how to avoid that without draining the pool.
