Replace Motor or Whole Pump?

Hi there,

I have a Pentair Whisperflo 1.5HP (non variable) that’s 9 years old and still going strong. We live in Georgia and don’t close the pool so in Dec/Jan/Feb it will run in frost protection mode. I was thinking about proactively replacing the motor (WF-6) in the fall so that I don’t have any issues in the winter just in case the pump decides to die on me.

Any thoughts on replacing just the motor or should I just get the whole pump?

Thanks,
Ron
