Hello,
I’m new to the community and a new pool owner (of an older pool), after purchasing a home with a pool. My pool has “Sealed Air” brand panels, probably 30 years old. After opening the pools this year I found a leak in one of the panels. I’ve seen a number of ways to repair leaks on internet, but not sure about these specific panels, which seem a little different from the newer panels.

Any suggestions? Does anyone have these panels they have repaired?

I live in East Bay San Francisco area.

Much depends on where the leak is located. If in one of the tubes, you can cut that tube open and install plugs (2) into both the upper and lower portions.

If the leak is right at the header, it is difficult to repair. I've done it by cutting the tube flush with the header, plugging the tube (2 plugs, always), and using a stainless steel screw designed for plastic, like the ones that hold the lid of a Jady valve, with a rubber gasket (you have to make that yourself from gasket material (auto parts store) and then I coat it with silicone sealant. Silicone sealant alone won't work as it will not stay attached to the poly pipe/tube.

This kit from Fafco has all you need to do the job. There is a blade that goes on the red-handled tool to open the tube, the very thin tool goes into the plug to force it into the tube.

Be careful on a roof.
