Hi I have a Hayward Ecostar SP3400VSP Pump. in the process of replacing the seals I stupidly broke one of the fins on the cooling fan on the back of the motor (replacement part number spx3400z1ecm). I am considering on continuing to use the pump, but am worried about the lack of a fin on the fan causing an imbalance. will the pump still work and if not, does anyone know whether just the fan can be replaced or must I buy a new motor? Thanks in advance for any advice. Regards, etl

Probably need to contact Hayward to see if they will sell just the fan. They might just give you one if you ask.

Another option is to contact the motor maker (I think Regal Beloit/A.O Smith/Century) to see if they will sell just the fan.

The motor is probably the same motor that the manufacturer sells under different brands. If you can identify which motors use the same fan, you can probably get the fan from another source.

If you can post pictures of the motor labels, we might be able to ID other motors that use the same parts.

The fan is probably a standard TEFC motor fan. Most likely, a local electric motor shop would have a fan that would work.

I would suspect that the fan has to fit the shaft and inside the shroud. Other than that, I don’t think that it’s super critical to get the exact fan.

However, getting the exact fan is always best.

The fan used on the Century VGreen 165 and VGreen 270 might be the same fan.
