Removing Water Using Waste Setting

Hi! We are experiencing a lot of rain in the area we live in. Is it okay to remove water from my pool using the waste setting on the filter? Will it damage anything?

It will not damage anything. You absolutely should not walk away. Only do this if you are present. If the water gets below the skimmer, you can damage the pump. A better strategy would be to use a sump pump, or if you have an AGP, a garden hose siphon.

I'd suggest running it in backwash for a chunk of that time.

Or vacuum the pool while draining.

If you're gonna dump water, might as well have the loss work for you and take some junk with it.
