Thanks! these posts have been helpful. So far I think i've managed to get rid of 80% of the odor. Right now I have the fridge off with the doors close with newspaper and some coffee inside.

Anytime I stored my RV or moved a fridge, I always put several paper lunch bags, each stapled shut full of charcoal briquettes on every shelf. Weeks or months later when opening it...no odor.
