Remove impeller on Hayward PowerFlo matrix

Can’t get impeller off, tried holding with screwdriver & turning, won’t break free, any ideas?

A crescent wrench on the shaft in the back and a strap wrench around the impeller.

There is no way to put wnench on shaft, it is even with housing, only a slot

They disassembled the motor to do this.

Depending upon the design of the back plate / cap the motor usually provides access to a squared off portion of the shaft so you can use a wrench to turn the shaft or secure it for removing / installing the impeller. In the most common design a wrench can be slid onto the shaft behind the rotating switch.
