Reel Installation - Solar Blanket / Cover

I have a 24ft dia AG pool. I am about to install the reel but I don't have that much space. Can I make the reel length less than the 24' dia? Also, to lessen the management of the reel can it be permanently on the outside edge of the pool? Thanks

The reel is needed to support the cover so you need it pretty much as wide as the cover. You could probably have it 6 inches smaller on both ends but that wont help your space issue much. Many members have built a reel holder outside their AG pool and keep it rolled up nearby. You could also cut the cover into 2 pieces to have two 12 footers. If you are building the reel yourself make 2 smaller ones and cut the cover. If you bought one, you are stuck with 24ft.

Thanks, I was thinking that maybe someone had already have a set up like the industrial sheet folder, which would work with rollers. I am going to look into it some more, it will give me an excuse 3d print or machine a couple of parts
