Reducing pH

Yes Steve, Muriatic Acid = Hydrochloric Acid = Stomach Acid (really!) and yeah, MA is cheaper here in the US. Dry acid is not good for plaster nor SWG cells so we avoid using it or suggesting it.

I can't tell by that photo if anything else has been added to this "wash" as it is labeled. I'm slightly suspicious of it since they're calling it something other than just HA or MA. And what strength is it?

It appears to be plain MA. Not many additives can be placed in high concentrations of acid and survive.

Before dumping it in your pool, take a bucket of water from the pool and put a small amount of the acid in the water. See if any odd reactions occur. But I am very confident it is plain acid.

Got this back from the supplier, looks good.

I enquired with our chemist here at the factory and he has said that yes, it is just Hydrochloric Acid branded specifically for Brick and Patio use.

As for usage instructions or dilution rates for using Hydrochloric Acid to manage pH levels in swimming pools, we are not able to provide any of that information.
