Good morning,
Calcium hardness is at 850. Water from the Colorado River. I see the recommendation to let water out. I let out about 25% + back in July. With water restrictions in our area, I can’t do that again. Or at least I wouldn’t be able to fill it back up! Any other way to reduce the calcium hardness?

You could utilize reverse osmosis to lower your CH but there is still some water loss involved, check with local companies offering this service. Is your salt cell loading up with calcium scale?

Thank you, I will look into that. The salt cell is fairly new, so not too much build up. Tile on my pool has a lot of scale.

You can use a whole house water softener that, over time, will solve the CH. You must connect it to your refill water source and, while it may take months, your CH will reduce.

What is the current CH of your fill water now?
