Hey all, I have read the Pool Care Basics > Recommended Pool Chemicals which is a great resource but it doesn't mention dosing. How much of each of these recommended chemicals will adjust the desired parameter in 10k gallon of water?

Thanks

In fact, you can use Pool Math in reverse to accurately predict the number of gallons in your pool if you are not sure. Using the FC Drop Test.....measure the FC. Add one gallon of illiquid CL distributed evenly about the entire pool to aid in mixing, and measure again after 30 minutes. If you know the percentage (I suggest FRESH Wal Mart 10%, not aged or stored)...and you have the pre/post numbers, you can back into the pool volume. This should be done only when the sun is near sunset, and it is critical that you have CC=0 (after a SLAM for example)....the pool cannot have any algae. pH between 7.4-7.8 is helpful too.

I know this sounds ridiculous but I use computers and screens all day at work. As a result, when I am not at work, I try to avoid them at all cost and I try not to add apps for everything under the sun to my phone. That's kind of why I've been a member for a few years but haven't really posted anything. If there is a resource that has dosing requirements, that would be great. Otherwise, if I have to, I'll install Pool Math and try to figure out the dosing from there for future non computer aided dosing.

Thanks and sorry for being a pain.

Yep, I use Computers 24/7/365, working from home for a company 3000 miles away since 2005. And I use Pool Math all the time. iPhone or Laptop....Not sure what else to say. Till someone writes a Pool Math app for the Abacus, we are all stuck. :laughblue:

So do it just this once and make yourself a spread sheet for each parameter.

2 FC = X ounces of LC
3FC = XY ounces of LC

Ph 8.2 to 7.8 is X ounces of Muriatic acid

10 lbs calcium is +100

(Etc etc etc).

Then keep the hard copy somewhere dry and reference it as needed.
