Hi,

For my pool (during the summer) I just dump the chems in & the pool filters move it all around (Pool is 40,000 gallons).

The hot tub is only 600 gallons so I am a little confused on how to properly care for the tub. Someone mentioned a floating dispenser but I am not sure of what to get.

Any recommendations would be great.

Thanks,
Rich

How are you currently maintaining your hot tub? Chlorine sanitation? Bromine? Something else?

Chemicals, for the most part, can simply be poured into the tub while the circulation jets are running so that they are adequately mixed (no need to run the blower/air jets).

To get my hot tub started, I fill it from the pool since that water is already stabilized and at the proper FC level. Just an idea...

Hi,

My spa isnt ready yet (end of the week). I have a bunch of jumbo chlorine tabs & other chems but am used to a larger pool.

Any suggestions on how to get started would be great!

Thanks,
Rich

Follow Danny's link in Post #3. It describes how to use simple liquid chlorine (aka, bleach) to sanitize a hot tub. You DO NOT want to use the chlorine tablets as trichlor tablets are too acidic for a hot tub and you will crash the pH. They also dissolve too quickly at normal hot tub temps to be useful.

Good luck.

Also, the single best investment you can make is to get one of the recommended test kits. You can't use "guess"strips if you want to properly balance and maintain a hot tub.
