Hi all,

We bought a house with a pool over the winter, and we've limped along thus far with maintaining it. I'm a chemical engineer turned stay at home mom, so here we go!

I just ordered my T-something test kit and drained about half my pool to lower my CYA. Am I doing this right? 😊😊😊

(Truly found this site because I was sold some "yellow blaster" at the pool store yesterday and told to lower chlorine and add the powder to eat the algae, and i didn't love their advice. )

Don't use the yellow blaster.

You don't want to drain a plaster pool when it is hot. If you have already drained and the plaster exposed, keep the plaster wet and fill it!

Use the no-drain water exchange here;

Follow the slam process to clear the pool of algae. Link-->SLAM Process
