I am converting my Pool Control to a Hayward Omni PL Retrofit. I have a Rheem 266 A Digital Pool and Spa heater and am trying to connect for remote control.

I did not conduct the initial wiring of the Omni PL Retrofit to the heater and want to confirm the correct way.

The fireman’s switch is currently wired such that each of the leads are lconnected to a heater terminal in the Omni PL. the remote connection on the heater is not used. In remote mode the heater will not function and continues to display the Fireman’s Switch.

As an aside, why do I need to wire the fireman’s switch to the Omni PL and why not use the heater remote connections ?

What are you calling a heater terminal?

The heater should be connected to one of the LVR relays.

the remote connection on the heater is not used. In remote mode the heater will not function and continues to display the Fireman’s Switch.

Where is it connected?

As an aside, why do I need to wire the fireman’s switch to the Omni PL and why not use the heater remote connections ?
