Raising the depth of gunite IGP

Hello,

Has anyone raised the depth of their gunite pool by 2ft to 3ft with concrete. I've been doing some searching but can not find the actually results of someone doing it. Curious to know how long ago it was done and if you have had any issues.

Yes, it can be done without any problems.

Pool is too deep

Our pool builder just shot gunite. The shallow end of the pool is much deeper than we wished at about 54 inches. We had asked for 42 inches. The pool builder says this is no problem at this point, that he will simply pour concrete over the gunite to raise the depth 6 inches in the shallow...

If I may ask, what are you planning: make the pool shallower by raising the bottom, or deeper by raising the top? I see you have a 4-5.6-4 sport pool, so I can't imagine you want it 2 feet shallower.

This is not for my pool, way happy with it. This is for a pool remodel and want to see if any one here had actually done it and there results long term.

If I live long enough for a pool remodel, I'll be interested too. Our pool builder suggested 5 ft for the deep end, but my wife wanted six feet, so we compromised with six feet. Bad idea. Too deep to stand. Too shallow to dive. Just dead space and more water to treat.
