Raising ph with air

Y’all prolly have a billion posts on using air to outgas the carbon dioxide and raise ph. I have set up a makeshift waterfall - wonder if this will work. Using a sump pump to pump water about 9ft in the air and drop back into the pool ... is this effective ? I’ve already dumped 2 gal of acid in the pool to bring the alkalinity down from 280 to 200 after one gallon, to 125 after the second - but my ph is now in the sixes.

Bumping this thread as I too, am curious if this helped. I like the idea of "backyard engineered" solutions to problems.
