I am helping out a friend who has a SWCG above ground pool. We are getting ready to SLAM due to algae. The SLAM instructions state:
"SLAMing an outdoor pool is most effective when CYA is around 30 to 40."
However, according to the Chlorine/CYA Chart the recommended CYA for SWCG pools is 70-80. Her CYA is currently 40. So can we go ahead with the SLAM using the numbers from the non-SWCG chart and then raise the CYA when finished?
Thanks!
