Liquid Chlorine
Hi all, first time poster here. Our pool was completed about 3 months ago and I’ve been maintaining using liquid chlorine since startup. I’ve been slowly pouring half a gallon of 10% everyday at noon in this Houston weather, and am ready to make the switch to make maintenance less tedious. Unfortunately there wasn’t much room on the side of the house where the plumbing was installed and so the install looks like it’s going to be a little tight. I’m interested in the circupool rj60+, but wanted to check if I have enough room. I’m considering a vertical install where the inline chlorinated currently sits, or potentially installing horizontally in the plumbing run after the heater. Is there any reason that this won’t work?

91,

Step back a couple of steps and show us a pic of the whole equipment pad...

It has to be after the heater, but I can't tell where your tab feeder is located compared to everything else.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Here’s some (hopefully) better pictures. The plumbing line after the heater runs through the gap between the equipment slab and the house. It’s kind of hard to see underneath all of the electrical lines.

Looks like the return line leaves the heater, goes along the ground behind the filter, then to the 3-way for pool or spa returns. In my case, linked below, I just removed the inline chlorinator. But you don't have much room there. The small gap after the heater is just that, smal as well. You can check the gap required for a vertical install. I guess another option, since you have to cut the pipes anyway, is to re-route that return that's behind the filter. Either higher off the ground or come in front of the filter if possible so you have room to work with on that long branch line.

91,

If you take the tab feeder out, you will not need the check valve that is just to the left of the feeder. You only need that check valve if you have a tab feeder.

Tab feeders have low pH junk in them that can flow back into the heater. SWCGs do not have that problem. When they are off, they are off..

If you take out the check valve and the tab feeder I suspect that you have room for a horizontal SWCG. If not, the vertical SWCG will work.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I thought about maybe raising the return line running behind the filter, but wasn’t sure if placing the SWG before the pool/spa valve was ok. I figured they installed the chlorinater past the valve for a reason. With that said, if I can remove the check valve then I should have plenty of room for the vertical install based on the attached screenshot.
