Questions about 2100 GHP intex sand filter

I upgraded to this pump this year. Ever since the initial install I have had air bubbles in my pump basket. I have checked all my connections and everything is tight and all valves are open. Is this ok that its like this or will it cause problems down the road. I even took it apart today and cleaned the impeller. There was a little bit of hair but nothing significant and that didn't change anything. I do know this pump is overkill for my 10x30 easy set but I got a wonderful deal and I plan on upgrading the pool next year. Could that just be the issue? I have great circulation in the pool with the pump on. Sorry if I'm just rambling on but I have no clue about any of this stuff lol this video should make more sense then I do hopefully http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/5948433954253/InShot_20170619_143050.mp4

Not sure if the video uploaded but if not here's a picture of what I'm talking about

I'm a new pool owner only had ours for a year...lol. I'm not qualified to make real suggestions just pointing out the obvious lol. We just upgraded from the cartridge pump/filter to a 3000 GPH Intex sand filter. So you've tried to bleed the air from the plug there...have you tried backwashing and rinsing it? Maybe that will help bleed the system. If there's air trapped it has to go somewhere....if it's sucking air in it would be from a fitting but you would prob have a water leak there too is my guess.

I've only had this pool a year as well so this is still all new to me. I had not the slightest idea how to care for a pool at the beginning of last season lol anyways I have tried backwash and rinse and that didn't do anything. I had the same thought. Thank you for your input though!

Just had a thought....does your pump basket lid sit flush before you screw on the plastic ring or is it almost like its crooked but once you screw on the ring it seams ok? I'm wondering if I got a bad/warped lid that's causing air to get in.

Now that you mention it that lid may have been a little wonky for me...check your o-ring seems that could get out of placement easily.

Rereading that yeah your basket should fit down flush in there...only one way it can go I think.

When I hooked mine up, I could see just the tiniest bubble of air where the hose is clamped to the pool (The clearish hose onto the black tube-like thing that is fastened with the clamp.) Called the husband over to tighten it, and it stopped. The little bubble was between the two. I'm not a big fan of the dual hose setup due to the hose clamp, etc. It just doesn't seen very secure. It's still "good enough" after 3 years, but I don't love it. If you aren't seeing any leaks or hearing any unual noises, as far as I know, it should be okay. My old pump didn't have the air bleeder valve, and I always had a little air in there. (If I am wrong, someone feel free to correct me!)

I'm definitely not a fan of the cheap connection. That's been a high suspension of mine as well. I think at this point im going go recheck the o ring again and get some metal clamps instead of the cheap plastic ones it came with. If it continues ill just have to deal with it. The only thing that bugs me about it is any possible long term damage. If that's not a issue and I get at least 2 years out if it, then ill be happy
