Question on sand filter with mustsrd algae

Morning! I'm at the tail end of treating my pool for mustsrd algae. I followed slam and last step of bringing level to mustsrd algae shock. Pool water is clear and looks amazing except for one spot that settles in the shallow end. I can't get behind light fixture due to stripped screw. Wo during if I should change out sand. I can't figure out why this one area comes back. Ugh any thoughts are appreciated.

It is not the sand, it is the algae behind the light. You need to figure out how to get the stripped screw out and clean behind the light.

Any gaps where you could inject some liquid chlorine behind light via syringe / turkey baster, etc?

I did that on the beginning, used a syringe to squirt it. Not sure if it helped. Appreciate the idea. I'll have to try to get the scree out
