Question on Safety Gates

Hello, new member to the forum. Just bought a new house and we have an above ground pool built into our rear deck. See picture below:


We also have a 2 year old, a dog and a new baby on the way. Sooo, as you can imagine, I'm focused on getting the pool area gated off. I've seen
the mesh fence such as the ones from Protect Child. I just wasn't sure if they can be installed on a wood deck?

Anyone have any advice to help keep my crew safe from the water?

I would just build a railing to match the deck. Just make sure it is up to code. The spacing on the deck spindles looks iffy to me in this picture.

Also - is your pool empty ? That's a big no-no.
