We have just constructed our pool and used sider crete. We are ready to add water but we have noticed water seeping through the back of the pool in the deep end. Have you encountered this or can you advise in any direction?
Welcome to TFP... A Great resource for all weeping poll owners...
I don't know about the product you used, but my pool also had water weeping in before they plastered. The plaster crew would not apply the plaster until the ground water was brought under control.
I assume you saw this weeping before they applied your coating?? I looked at the sider-crete website and it appears this coating is pretty thin, more like a paint rather than a plaster.
You really can't stop weeping by applying anything to the inside of a pool. If you can get the weeping to stop by redirecting the water's source or maybe just waiting for the ground to dry up... then I would recoat the area where it was weeping and then add water.. In theory, the water pressure inside will help prevent the external water from getting in. But the real answer is to redirect the source of the weeping.
Are you building this pool yourself? I have never heard of this product before. Was this installed by a Pool Builder?
