Hello!

We have a sun deck with a built in umbrella stand and have been told since we have a salt water pool that we need to be very careful about the type of umbrella we use. One person told me it has to be stainless steel... I have been looking online and can not find stainless steel umbrellas. It looks like there are plenty of options for Aluminum - can we use an umbrella with an Aluminum pole and not have any issues?

Attached is a picture of our sun deck.

I look forward to your reply and appreciate your help!

Anodized aluminum would be fine but even regular aluminum will work too. No worries at all with aluminum. Wood is not a good choice because it can swell from water absorption. No need for stainless steel....that's just silly talk.

We've had an inexpensive Lowes' aluminum pole umbrella in the water for 2 seasons now. Still looks brand new.
