Hi, I have been reading the forums for awhile now to get ready to setup my 18' x 52 intex ultra xtr pool. I found the spot and removed the grass because I need to level the ground, because my yard is slopped.

I have to dig down on the back half of the are by almost 16" and will put up a retaining wall woth a ring around the pool area. But today while digging to level the area and found beach sand because it is my reserve area for my leech field. So my question is can I still level that sand and install the pool on it or do I need to level it and then add dirt on top of the beach sand?

Thanks, i had figure while i had the money i would buy a pool for my wife and kids to enjoy, i have a 5 year old daighter and twin 17 year old boys, so after all this they all better use it lol.
i also bought the haywood skimmer and connectors, and will also be running the power from my house to the pump by digging and burring the conduit pipe etc.
I'll be doing the digging by hand starting tomorrow, once I get it down and level I think I'll rent a plate compactor and pack it down and see how stable it is.
I planned where the pavers go on digging down more and using the step 1 and step 2 paver sand that way it shouldn't go any where.
Not sure if you can see in these pictures but that string line is my level line from the lowest point to the highest point. Once I get it close I will use the 2x4 and level method.

So thus past week I started to dig down to level the ground where the pool is going to go. My problem I found is that since I am over my reserve area for my leach field it is all sand and some hard packed dirt. I know I am not suppose to put anything on my leach field but this is just the area they reserve incase my current one fails and they need to move it to a new un soiled area, so I will deal with it when ever that happens which hopefully isn't any time soon.

So my question is since it is sand and it isn't really packable, should I put a few inches of crushed stone and pack it down then put a few inches of soil and pack it down aswell?

I am putting a retaining wall in the back and will have a row or two all the way around before I would add the stone and soil that way it holds it all in place is this a good plan and will it hold up over time?
