Hello, I did the pool coping myself with pavers and, in order to keep a slight level away from the pool I had to shim a few pavers which ended up leaving a gap in some spaces, varying from none to maybe 1/2 inch in the worst sports.
I decided to glue the pavers with PL construction adhesive since my mortar test was very messy, I applied the adhesive in straight lines coming out of the pool so water can drain through. In the mittered corners however, not sure water can drain THAT good.
I’m in Canada so we get up to -30C temps in winter for a good 4-5 months so I fear water being stuck under the coping pavers causing damage.
I was wondering if I should fill that gap from the inside, in between the liner aluminum track and pavers. i was thinking of masking taping both the stone and the track and fill the gap with some waterproof caulking to prevent water from going under the stones through normal pool usage with the kids.
YAY or NAY?
I’m on the road and only have one so-so pic, I’ll post more pics if it helps once I’m home
Thanks in advance !!!!
