Question about cleaning a filter

TSP is what I use. I also use the Mikise cleaning wand and filter flosser to get all the cleaner out and clean the pleats.
I was worried that TSP might affect the chemical makeup of the spa , though most gets rinsed out.

How do you know when the filter needs replacing , or do you just do it every year or two ? We have 2 that we rotate.

On my old tub, I replaced the filter every year or so. I also wasn't as diligent in cleaning them. My wife did most of the maintenance but I did the filters when I was around (I traveled a lot back then).
On this one, I have 2 sets of filters so I'm hoping to get a couple of years out of them. You want to change them before you start getting enough restriction in them to cause a flow problem.
