I also did not realize you can use salt for water softeners as pool salt. Wow thanks for this.

I have used Diamond Crystal Solar salt exclusively. That choice was based off thousands of threads here. I have NEVER had an issue, or seen one here with Diamond Crystal.

Mortons and Clorox salt are the worst for staining and other issues.

That this is not common knowledge, helped many of us through the Covid shortages.

I went to buy it this year again and HDs (diamond crystal) pool salt was $3 cheaper a bag so I bought that intstead.
