PVC fitting pressure Question

Hi all. I am doing a DIY install of a fiberglass pool in KY.

I ordered 90 degree sweep fittings from Leslie’s. They are Waterway Plastics brand. I was expecting to see the ASTM 2466 rating for pressure use, but they were not marked. So I called the manufacturer and asked about pressure rating. They are not 2466 rated, but they are pressure rated for 50psi.

From my reading, most 2” 90 degree fittings that are Sch40 and 2466 can hold 200+ psi. Not that I would ever see that, but 30psi is typical in a pool. So these are not DWV, but also not full pressure. I’m debating returning them and ordering Lasco fittings. Thoughts?

Pool PVC (polyvinyl chloride) should be marked "Schedule 40". Schedule 40 PVC is made for water under pressure. If the pipe has ASTM D 1785 on the pipe, it's suitable for pressure applications. A rating of ASTM D 2665 means non pressure applications and should not be used for pools.

While they probably would have worked, is it worth it to bury them under your patio and back to the pad ? Even if you had to eat the cost, it's worth eating IMO.

I wouldn't be happy with a sweep that's only rated for 50psi.
I do not know that the rating is only 50 psi.

Do you have a technical sheet on the product?

Asking someone on the phone for this information is highly unreliable.

The fitting are probably as strong as the other pool sweep ells.

Yes, I called them directly and this is the spec I was given from Waterway. The spec sheet is not listed online. They are NSF certified, but not ASTM. I agree they "might work", but I don't want to rip out concrete in the future on account of "might". Thanks for the responses everyone!
