Hi folks, I've been building a gunite pool for the past few months and last weekend we finally got all the pool coping installed.
The next step is that we are planning to install a new travertine paver deck and I'm under the impression that before I get started on the deck, I need to first wrap the outside of the coping/bond beam with this expansion joint foam in order to protect them from the expansion/contraction of the deck. Then after the deck is done, I should tear off the perforated top layer of the foam and fill the gap with mastic.
I wanted to double check with the experienced folks if my understanding is correct? In general how thick should the foam be? And would a product like this work? Although I know it says that it is for concrete and not pavers.
