TFP notifications are tied to the forum activity, specifically to alert you about new posts or private messages based on your preferences. If you’ve disabled push notifications, you may miss real-time updates about replies to your posts, threads you’re following, or messages from other members.
If you’d like to re-enable them, you can typically do so within your forum profile under preferences. Let me know if you need assistance getting it set up!
I didn't miss your reply to me. The little alert icon had a 1 next to it so the alerts seems to be not affected. I usually disable them on most websites because I don't need the notifications on "many people following this post" popping up in my Windows taskbar. Drives me crazy when I'm using my computer and notifications are popping up in the lower corner of my screen saying "someone responded to your Facebook post, there's a new post on Nextdoor, FC/CYA hot topic on TFP". As long as I can see who responded to my posts in alerts and you can notify me directly for any reason, I'll keep the notifications off.
This feature has been live for around a year with minimal complaints, but for sure it can be improved…..and from what I’ve read Xenforo themselves did improve a few things in more recent updates. Your messages likely occurs whenever you logout or delete your cookies. While I wish that Xenforo made it a profile setting, they opted to use cookies instead to track who wants what. If it bugs you greatly drop me a PM and I can make them all stop.
