Purple/Violet PH test, very low chlorine

I opened the pool yesterday and when I went to take the PH test it was above 8.2, so I thought I needed to add acid, after adding some (~20 oz) to bring it down today I got the same reading. Now reading PH - Further Reading. I thought oh maybe i have too high of FC, so I switched to the the FAS-DPD test kid and only got 1.5 FC level (I know it is low), which also matches up with the regular chlorine test (not picture doesn't have any water on the chlorine side of the test). Any idea what could be causing this color? I am going to get some distilled water later today to do the diluted PH test, but wanted to get some other thoughts before I do anything else. Other thing to note is I did just have my system revamped to a SWG but that isn't active yet as the installer is doing a few things left on it tomorrow and didn't bring the salt yet, but I don't think that should matter for this, but wanted to share it.

Put your test results into Poolmath. You are sharing the data but there is none there.

Enter the pH as 8.2 and TA at 100 into Poolmath. Add enough acid to lower the pH to 7.8. Add that acid, circulate the pool for 30 minutes, test pH, repeat until you get pH in the 7's.

I also am realizing that the shelf life of my muratic acid may bit a bit past it's end of life, just read it's about 5 years, pretty sure this bottle I've had closer to 8-9 years (happen to have it laying around). I'll have to run to the hardware store tomorrow to buy more, but I did add the 2 cups 4 oz per the app which happened to be the rest of that bottle too.

Muriatic Acid does not degrade. Be careful that the plastic bottle can become brittle, however.

Thanks. Then overall, this just looks like a high PH correct? It isn't anything else I'm misreading or could be interfering with it?

A full set of test results would be good to see. Be sure you add chlorine to maintain the proper FC level.
