Puppy Peeing on Mesh Winter Safety Cover

So this is our 5th Golden and for some reason this puppy prefers to relieve herself on our blue GLI mesh safety cover. Sometimes we can get her on the grass, but she seems to prefer the mesh. Anyone else ever deal with this? She has once or twice also taken a dump.

Any tips, and am I going to have a water issue come Spring (20,000 gallon IGVP).

Keep her on the leash till her business is done.

Is she an indoor or outdoor Goldie? If she is inside, make sure you take her out often and to a location that is acceptable to use. Wait for her to go then make a big deal about it. Hi-happy voice tones. Good girl/boy and praise. If you catch her in the wrong spot a low mean no will let her know you are not happy and that is not an acceptable spot. If the dog is outdoors a lot, well you will have to keep her away and spend much time outdoors with her doing the same.
