Well, I ended up moving my pump a closer to my pool but further from its outlet. Now the cord just lies across the ground up to the GFI outlet. Is there/can I bury some sort of conduit/trench that the cord will pass through under ground so that I do not have to unplug it each time I mow? There is no extension cord just the pumps cord. I am thinking a 2-3 inch piece of conduit so I can pass the plug through it. The pump is removed and store for winter.

I'm sure you can buy some type of conduit at any of the larger home improvement stores.

Personally, I just left mine laying across the grass. I was careful at first not to snag it with the mower, and unplugged it first. Within a couple of weeks the grass had grown over it to the point that it was no longer even visible. But that was Bermuda grass, which spreads rapidly. YMMV.

An advantage to having the cord in a piece of conduit is that it is protected from "critters" that may like to gnaw on the insulation.

Yes - i have a 2” piece of black iron pipe that i run my cords through as a chaise to protect them from the weedeater at the edge of mu deck & keep it looking neater. A piece of pvc would do the trick too - if u wish to bury it you may wanna put a 90 on each end to further protect it & so u can easily pull the cord(s) out if u need to.

I am going to use 3 inch PVC with 2 90s on either end. Then cap it with this as I want to stop as much moister and bugz entering it as possible.

I might even use some duct seal to close it up even more. I have a long electrical pull rod so snaking it through will be easy.
U should be able to cut a little slit & notch in those easily so they fit around the cord(s) 👍🏻
I wouldn’t worry with the duct seal (messy) maybe a little electrical or black duct tape on top if u are worried about it.

What about moving the outlet? Or putting in another outlet off from the original one?

Any conduit you bury will likely fill with water over time and if the ends are not capped also dirt.

The outlet is already 6 feet from the pool. Any closer is a code violation. As noted above I will be adding a cap the overall design has changed slightly by adding (2) 90s at each end and elevating the entry exits about 6 inches above ground. This should only leave me with bugz as an issue and I could always blow out the conduit if it really needed it. I'll probably start this weekend and post some pictures.
