I have a pentaIr VS pump. I fill the pump up with water from my hose, close it, and get it going. I can’t draw ANY water into the pump. I tried filling the lines with my hose a bunch of time again. Every skimmer line and main just take all the water like it’s going into the pool? Shouldn’t it eventually fill? I dont know what the problem is at all. I’ve never had this issue. I checked all the connections etc. where is the water going? Are all three lines blown from freezing over winter?

P,

You have discovered "Gravity".. The water won't stay in the pump because gravity just drains it back into the pool.

Show us a couple of pics of all the pipes and valves that feed into the suction side to the pump, as well as a pic of whole your equipment pad..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Seriously just gravity? I would have thought the pipes would eventually have back pressure or ‘something’ when filling. Anyway. I’ll try to get those photos. Sun just went in. Thanks for the help!

Here’s an older photo. Only thing different is the VS pump.

Can you show a current picture of how it looks now?

In the picture, the valves are closed.

Make sure that the valves are open.

Check for suction leaks at the lid and the unions.

Make sure that all drain plugs are in.
